You will need to down load guicktime as well as installing windows media format runtime, www.riverpast.com. That should help you convert from quicktime to windows media format.

I have quicktime and windows media format runtime. What should I download on riverpast? I dont want to spend much money. Could I use windows media encoder to convert?

I dont know a lot about this but a Mov file seems to be a quick time file. It may be better to back up and punt.
It seems you created a mov. file out of your video so why change to mov file at all.
Start from the beginning but change to a file that you can work with.
I believe once you save to file from editing then keep changing you will loose vid quality.
From editing I save to av file then use windows media encoder.
I dont know much about this but if you must change a mov. file try this

http://avs4you.com/AVS-Video-Converter.asp...;OVMTC=advanced

It seems to be a free trial.........I hope this helps .....Lee S.W.A.T.

I uploaded the video to my computer from my digital camera and it was a .mov file or quick time file right away. I tried to upload to huntingfootage but it never showed up. The avs4you works but it leaves a watermark in the middle of the video, I try differnt sites to see if I can find one. Thanks for all of your help
Austin

But did you uplaod or capture it through windows movie maker?
hunt4life
I hooked up my camera and opened movie maker and clicked on capture from video divice but it said it cant detect any divice. I also tried to import but it cant support a .MOV file.

If you are in WMM and you have your 1394 firewire connected to your computer, then plug it into your camera, turn it on, the comp will find your camera and the you can capture the video. What type of video camera?

I think movie maker is my only choice. When I got to movie maker i click on capture from video device and then a messege comes up that says A video capture divice was not detected, Varify that the divice is on and is connected properly.

Im not sure about a camera, but it sounds like it captures in that file so you can view in quick time.
WMM is a good progran but may not have the features you need.
You can try this 15 day trial verson of nero 7. It has many features.

Is that camera PAL or NTSC............I don't think WMM will support PAL........try a free trial of either pinnacle studio 10.6 or Nero..........either of these programs will support all formats even Hi Def.

Good luck!

I just looked up your camera................it is a still camera that uses a memory card for video ,correct...............this is very likely your problem.........it is not capturing through firewire ,but a usb port............I don't think any of these trial downloads will help you either, you'll just have to keep it in the mov. format..........I think,I however am not a video techics pro...........so maybe I'm wrong.
