Someone out there must have some idea what is going wrong for Bowana - I have been racking my mind from time to time trying to think of what might be happening on Bowana's computer - he HAS the latest download for Quicktime running on his system and still cannot view clips posted in the .mov (quicktime) format - DOES ANYONE HAVE A CLUE???

Lee, the only other thing I can think of is perhaps there is some setting in your web browsers preferences/properties that will allow the browser to use the Quicktime plugin to play .mov files when required. DOES THIS THEORY jog something in the mind of someone who knows more about this than I do??

Come on everyone - Lee gives us all so many great clips to enjoy, lets help him out and get him viewing quicktime.

Aaron

PS: Bowana, I hope you don't mind me asking this (above) and using you as an example, but it may help others with the same problems if we can find a solution.

One thing that Lee might try is to open Quicktime, go to the Edit tab on the player, scroll down to Preferences, and then click QuickTime Preferences.

Once in QuickTime Preferences look at the File Types Tab. There you should only select QuickTime Movies. The "Use Deaults" Tab will set the file types correctly too.

If that doesn't work, we should look into the Windows Media Player Options:

In WMP, maximize the window and click the Tools Tab. Then go to Options, and click the File Types Tab. Then click the "Select All" tab.

Restart your computer and come back and click on the video you last had trouble viewing.

I'm still thinking and researching on this issue, I'm just afraid that it might be something over my head. I'm here to help.

I'm beginning to suspect Codec issues.....more to come.

I tried both options and they seem to be set like you've suggested with the exception of Quicktime. It was set to play avi too.
I tried an avi and it worked. I dint have any Quicktime files to try. I'm beginning to think I'm just to ugly. Almost positive ! Ill put my sun glasses back on. .. cool.gif
