I have been videoing for the first time this year and am useing Hi8. What hardware and software do u guys use to get your videos on here? I have been doing some research but am haveing trouble sorting it out. Thanx in advance.

There are many capture cards. Dazzle by Pinnacle is one that a lot of people use.

I looked at the dazzle and they seem to work through USB. I read your other linked article re: firewire and it said USB cant send enough info for high quality video. My computer has a firewire port. Is there another system I should be looking at? Thanx

I also noticed that USB streaming the video whether through Dazzle or Windows Movie Maker 2 the quality isn't the greatest, i am looking into upgrading my sound card anyways so i will be purchasing the audigy MP3 card with integrated 1394 port. i will be using pinnacle studio 9 as this is what i use at work anyways.
