I use a Windows Media Video (WMV) because more viewers can view it. (Most editing softwares can make one) but theres more options in Windows Media encoder.
Its free from microsoft. Theres some issues with Vista 32 bit but its still worth a try.

Edit your video then save it as an AVI for use with the encoder.
If you don't see the New Session window select New Session on the top left.
Under the Wizards tab choose Convert a file.
Choose your source file ...(Your AVI video)
Choose Web Server Progressive Download
Under the Video drop down tab choose DVD quality, then 1073 kbps ( for longer clips you can use VHS quality but the picture quality will be somewhat degraded)
Select finished
Under the properties tab, then processing tab choose Deinterlace (or at least detect to see if it needs it)
Then start encoding.
I think the upload limit is around 35 mbs. These settings should be good for a 4 or 5 minute clip. You may need to adjust the length of your clip to stay within the upload limit.
Uploading takes some time. Sometimes up to 20 minutes or more depending on your connection speed.
Don't forget to save a thumbnail pic for your video at no more than 160 pixels wide. After video upload there will be an option to upload thumbnail pic.
I hope to see your smiling face soon on Huntingfootage .com. ...
