Hi, I'm new here, I have loads of film of deer, elk, bighorn sheep, and other critters, But, I only have a normal video camera. My didital camera has video so I though I'd hook my video camera up to the TV and video the video...but it doesn't give it the right quality and you can't see what I was videoing too well...so I uploaded one as an example: Mule deer/ whitetail test video. I was told that it can be done with out a digital video camera. Can someone please help me cause I have some really great footage that I would love to share with you, Like B&C bull elk. blink.gif also I'm kind of stupid with computers so If anyone would like to help me step by step through msn or aim that would be great.

It sounds like you'll need a "capture device" like a Dazzle. See the link below. For a basic understanding of how things work, check out the graphic in the second link below.

Hope this helps,
Darren

Dazzle is a capture device that will take your VHS tapes or other tape formats and convert them to digital on your computer hard drive, it will cost between $80-$100.00. Looking forward to seeing your finished video's, we don't have those critters here in the northeast US.

The Dazzle product you choose is really based on your needs. This has been discussed before somewhere on this site, however, my suggestion is to look at the pictures of each Dazzle product and look at the inputs and outputs. You may not need the more expensive products that have multiple inputs/outputs. Additionally, some of the packages just have software added. You may or may not need the additional editing software.
