I am new here and have lurked for a while.

I have a DV format camera and have allready made a couple hunting DVD's using windows movie maker.

I noticed on another post that to transfer from camera to computer you need a firewire or USB.

I have the USB that came with my camera...is there any benefit to getting the firewire?

Also what software or program do you recommend for home editing, I am looking for a step up from movie maker if possible, while still keeping it simple.

Thanks in advance,

CS

A firewire cable allows you transfer data at a faster rate than a USB cable... as for editing software, there are several to choose from, but only a few are worth the money - and those aren't cheap... if you have windows xp, then you already have movie maker... that's a good, easy-to-learn-on editing platform... if you want to go a little deeper into editing, then I suggest Sony Vegas Movie Studio ($99)... if you have some extra bucks to spend, you can look into professional versions of Sony Vegas, Pinnacle, Adobe or Canopus($400-$1,500)... the best thing to do is just get started and familiarize yourself with editing basics... movie maker is the perfect choice for that... when you get tired of the basics, jump to one of the others mentioned above...

silbow, I'm not quite sure I'm following your question... are you having some sort of audio problem?

I have a external mic on my video trail camera so it sounds like your right out there with what ever is triggering the cam.

How can I hear it on the video using windows movie maker ?
